Substance Abuse Prevention

Enterprise Elementary School District is committed to keeping families informed and students safe by educating about the serious dangers associated with synthetic drugs that are not prescribed by a physician, including fentanyl. These substances may be disguised in counterfeit pills and pose life-threatening risks. Social media is also increasingly used to market and sell these dangerous drugs, often targeting youth. We encourage parents and guardians to talk with their children about the risks and to stay alert to warning signs of substance use.

Common warning signs of drug and/or alcohol use in students include:

  • Withdrawal from family and friends
  • Poor performance in school
  • Changes in friend groups
  • Lying
  • Loss of interest in hobbies and activities
  • Changes in sleep patterns

If you are concerned about your child’s well-being or need support, please contact your school’s office to be connected with the school counselor. Our staff can help link you to trusted intervention programs, counseling services, and other assistance resources.
